Fabio Fiorellato
Data Coordinator Fabio Fiorellato joined the IOTC Secretariat in March 2016 as Data Coordinator. With over 16 years of experience as software engineer and data manager both in the private and in the non-governmental sector (including six years of experience within the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN) he actively participated in the design and implementation of multiple IT projects focused on fishery data collection, management and exchange both at national and regional level, including the ABNJ / Common Oceans-funded CLAV initiative (Consolidated List of Authorized Vessels). His duties at IOTC include the coordination of the collation, provision and exchange of key data and information pertaining to the Commission, such as - among others - data related to the list of authorized vessels, (presumed) IUU activities, trade information schemes and all mandatory data regularly required for submission by member countries. He is also in charge of verifying the quality and correctness of the submitted data, prepare the data sets required for use by the IOTC Scientific Committee and its Working Parties and contribute to the dissemination of information on data-related Commission activities.
